Dual-Axis Solar Sunflower Array | Case Study in Hebei, China
2025-04-24
Project Timeline: June 2023
Location: Langfang, Hebei, China
Project Scale: 5 Dual-Axis SolarFlowers.
Technical Features: GPS-enabled sun-tracking system, synchronous dual-axis rotation.
June 2023 - Five dual-axis Solar Sunflowers were installed in the green space outside the Langfang Convention and Exhibition Center.
This project seamlessly integrates green energy technology with public landscape art, featuring an elegant and modern design that harmonizes with the surrounding environment, adding a distinct touch of technological sophistication to the modern exhibition complex.
Equipped with an advanced GPS-based sun-tracking system, the Solar Sunflowers perform fully automated dual-axis tracking. This ensures the flowers accurately follow the sun's azimuth and elevation throughout the day, maximizing solar energy capture.
After sunset, the system gracefully returns the flowers to their initial position, ready to bloom again the next day.
In operation, the five Solar Sunflowers move in synchronized rotation, creating a captivating visual spectacle.
This not only demonstrates precise industrial control technology but also forms an ever-changing visual scene, vividly illustrating the harmonious integration of technology, art, and nature.
